We are charged with the impossible task of raising around
£21,500 per year to fund "conductive education" for our
4 year old daughter,
Isabella. The bottom line is that without this, she's unlikely to
improve and develop to any level of normality.
Barnsley Council will not fund her education at Paces School.
The council state "it would not be an effective use of LA
resources". Their proposal is for her to attend Greenacre School in Barnsley. Whilst we acknowledge that Greenacre is
an excellent school, every child is different and must be assessed
according to their needs. Like all parents, we simply want the
best for our daughter and we should be allowed to make a choice.
This should be based on professional opinions and more
importantly, what Isabella responds to. This should not be a
financial decision.
Our predicament is a tough one; send her to Greenacre
or attempt to raise funds to send her to "Paces" which is located
in Sheffield. The school is world renowned and families from all
over the world (including the States) move to the UK to send their
kids there.
